Weirs are a form of plate or ring placed in a clarifier or water tank to ensure a uniform flow of water and to avoid short-circuiting. This is a phenomenon wherein the water flows from the inlet to the outlet in the shortest possible route, not allowing enough time for the sedimentation of solid particulates in the water or for chemicals to take effect.
Scum baffles, on the other hand, are specifically designed to prevent solid particles in the water from going over the weir. This, in tandem with weir plates and density current baffles, offers a comprehensive flow control and sedimentation solution for large reservoirs in the wastewater management industry.
- High corrosion resistance: Since it is made of composite material, it offers complete resistance against corrosion, a fundamental feature for the wastewater management sector.
- Lightweight and high strength: Our FRP products are as strong as aluminum or stainless steel products but without the weight. In fact, they are lighter than aluminum, making them excellent for transportation and installation.
- Low maintenance: After installation, it requires minimal maintenance, ensuring excellent service and toughness for decades.
- Fire retardant: Lastly, all Protectolite™ products are fire retardant and are available in different colour combinations as per the client’s request.
Protectolite™ is a pioneer in the field of manufacturing highly innovative FRP products. From prototypes to large-scale orders, our sprawling facility can deliver it all. Everything, right from conceptualization to manufacturing takes place in our Toronto facility.
